PRAYER

We desire to be a praying church.

Each month we hold two Monday prayer gatherings. Women meet to pray on the second week of each month. Men meet to pray on the fourth Monday. Times and locations are provided in our weekly email newsletter each month.

Priorities for Prayer

At our winter members' meeting we identified four areas of focus for prayer and growth in 2024.

If you’re a member or regular attender of New City Church, we’d ask you to join with us in praying regularly for our church in regard to these areas.

For their growth and maturity; for their spiritual and relational health; for their increased desire to pray regularly for our church.

Gospel Communities

For the Sunday gathering to be a means of God’s grace, rest, encouragement, and sustenance; that we would turn from the cultural idols that steal our affection from God; that we would prioritize our participation in the local church—both in the Sunday gathering and in understanding ourselves as a body of people who have committed to follow Jesus together.

Prioritizing the Local Church

For a sense of urgency to share the gospel with those in our families, friendships, neighborhoods, and workplaces; to faithfully live out the implications of the gospel in everyday life; that we would be sensitive to opportunities to plant seeds; that we wouldn’t grow discouraged if the process feels slow.

Missional Living

For our hearts to be freshly amazed at the magnitude of the goodness, grace, and mercy of God and moved to respond in prayer and praise; that we would commit to pray regularly for the life and health of our church; that we would be moved to pray for the unbelievers in our spheres of influence.
