I find myself today meditating of our last text in the book of Ephesians together, the Armor of God.
The armor of God can be viewed as merely synonyms for the Gospel. Translated literally from the Greek we read in Ephesians 6:14-18… Truth…Righteousness …Gospel of Peace… Faith…Salvation… Word of God…
(All of these are just different ways of describing the Gospel)
In Chapter 4 of “A Gospel Primer” -Vincent says,
“As long as I am inside the Gospel, I experience all the protection I need from the powers of evil that rage against me.”
The fact that Paul tells us to “take up” and “put on” in Ephesians 6, reminds us that we don’t automatically come into each day ready for battle. Remember, we are in a war, we have a real enemy and we have been given real weapons. Prayer and the word of God are given to us as our primary offenses weapons in this battle. So let me ask you, “how have you been praying the gospel over yourself today?”
“preach the Gospel to yourself and make it the obsession of your heart throughout each day”
